Trip to Kas pleatue

The Kaas Plateau, also known as the Kaas Pathar or Kas Sadas, is a plateau situated 25 kilometres west from Satara city in Maharashtra, India. It falls under the Sahyadri Sub Cluster of the Western Ghats, and it became a part of a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site in 2012.Month of Septeber is preferably a good time to visit kaas pathaar, this is famous for its uniqueness of having diffrent colours of flowers naturally.

Since its Peatue with stone , ground doesn't contain mudd so its not capable to hold water till long , that is the reason one shouldn't visit there after long time of rain , due to sun, flowers lost thier gloriousness and you may end up in wasting your time for a day .

Things before starting trip ...

it ll be good if you reach there by early morning , in morning its shining like anything ,you will fall in love with nature.

since the property is held by tourism department and in incresing number of visitors tourism department started ticketing system and alotting slot timing .

Ticket ..

you can book your ticket for visit online and offline as well . Kaas having online booking available at https://www.kas.ind.in/ one can visit and book tickets online ,

if in case you are not sure whether you ll be visiting or not since it is non-refundable amount 100rs/person . you can avail ticket at time of visit there .

there are diffrent slots for visiting

working hours 7am to 7 pm after this entry not allowed .

slot timings

7 am to 10 am

10 am to 1 pm

1 pm to 4 pm

4 pm to 7 pm

Best time to visit as per your convinient but preferably in frist slot 7 am to 10 pm. in second or thisrd slot sun will be very bright and you may not be able enjoy it at full.

you may require to carry one umbrella , if you visitng with kids then you shoud carry a umbrella with you for sunlight or for rainy day aswell..

Food..

On kaas pleatue you wont find any snacks or something kind of . In side of Pleatue yoou may find few locals selling bhakri and lassi you can avail that .

but if you are expecting a proper lunch there then it is not a place for .

it ll be good if carry few snacks and must carry water bottels to enjoy inside pleatue . its a wide huge land one can feel tierd very soon .

Before reaching the destination you will find dhabas and resorts and hotels on the way , you can have lunch over ther . and beaautifull sceneries on the way one can capture beautifull moment and nature in phone.

its not possible to cover entire area in one visit , by the way its all over same you can visit one side itself.

Travel..

There is not public transport availalbe till pleatue . you have to manage own transport .

While going with 2 wheeler staff will ask you to park bike near entrance from there you to take buses till pleatue at cost of 10rs/person which is not worth for 1.5 km but no choice you have to avail.

if you are visitng with bike way from satara to pleatue is full of nature and greeneraies , ponds lakes and green hills make you feel like Europe.

before leaving highway make sure your vehicle have enough fuel since there are no fuel station on the way till Pleatue from highway ..

Our Journey..

it is 146 km from Hinnjwadi pune , we have started trip around 9am from wakad which is quite late with bike, and reached at 1pm . In 4 hours we have covered entire journey with 4 or 5 stops .

it was a great trip ...

it been long when it rained here so we missed those flowers at thier best but we still enjoyed it.
